Teac 3300S, buy it or not?

I'd really like to go reel to reel. Now I'm recording to my 4 track cassette recorder Marantz PMD740. But I'd like to find a Tascam 38 or 48 sooner or later.
Also, a two channel for mastering wouldn't be bad. Maybe a Tascam 32 :)
BUT,
I found locally, a Teac 3300S for 150 euros ($220)! It'll be my first reel to reel.
Buy it or wait to find a Tascam 32 or 42? How hard is to find parts for it?
I don't mind to wait. But if this is a good choice I'll go for it! Please let me know....

Do you know if the 3300 is a T version and what speed it records at? If it's a T version and records at 15ips and is in good shape it would be worth it. The T's record half track like the 32's using the whole tape for better quality. I've never used one but I'd imagine they'd sound great. The 32's have a bit more convenient features but the 3300 series are my favorite Tascam/Teac decks.

I have a TEac A-3300SX, it is a 1/4 track deck, (4 tracks 2 channel) not a 2 track mastering deck, but it sounds good, and I used it for that for a while. The A-3300SX-2TR is the 1/2 track version and runs at the higher speed. 150 Euro seems a bit high, I paid about that nearly 20 years ago. :)

So, it isn't a bargain! :o

Thanks for your help! I'll wait for a Tascam 32 or similar!

Remember, that was for the 1/4 track deck. If this is the 1/2 track deck it isn't a bad price. Find out exactly and also what condition it is in. Parts support from Teac is good in the USA. Not sure if they ship to Europe.

Thanks Blue Jinn for putting up the proper model. "2TR" I was going nuts to find the exact model.

Didn't find more details for the Teac. I'm planning to see it in the weekend so I'll know more about it. :)

But, today a friend call me and told me about an Otari MX50 for 250 euros (~$370). I'm totally newbie with RTRs... what do you say about this one?
I'd like to find a Tascam but I'm open for great deals.

No news about Teac, yet. Hope I'll have tomorrow.

But any advice for the Otari mx50? Also, there's an Otari mx5050 that I'm dealing with! Hope it'll be in a great price.

BTW, is it a wise idea to buy the mastering RTR first instead of the 8-track?
