TDM-DX Wrapper... does it exist?

I see there are VST-DX wrappers available. Is there any kind of equivalent TDM emulator for the PC? Doubt it, but it's at least worth asking.

If there were, then there would be no need to buy full blown pro tools. Jesus I wish there was a wrapper for TDM to directx, but there most certainly, my friend, isn't.

No. The TDM code is all chip-specific (for certain Motorola DSPs) and therefore is not easily portable. Anyone who ports it will (I think) have to write an app to emulate the chip architecture and then run the port on top of it. Also, TDM plugs are designed to work with the Pro Tools architecture, probably very tightly, with access to inputs and busses to use for sidechains etc. All of these settings would probably have to be recreated on a per-app basis.
 
but rtas is only dependent on the software.. and many great tdm plugins are available. i wish some one would port rtas..
 
all the best ones are still mac only though (and when i say that, I mean the creme de la creme of plugs, McDSP).

is waves gold bundle good??
 
waves gold bundle rules, my friend. The best reverbs/compressors for PC in my opinion. Waves is on top of the game, I'm sure that there won't be too much argment about that.

But Waves gold bundle is available for everything, DX, VST, MAS, TDM, RTAS. When I think of the unavailable plugins that are on TDM, I think of the Access Virus, the bombfactory plugins, and the McDSP stuff. Pretty much everything else is available on all the platforms.

Yup, this is specifically what I was thinking of.:) Running the Access Virus soft synth on my PC.

The TC powercore card seems to be the closest you can get to TDM on a pc. Access will be making a synth plugin, but no releasedate yet.
