TC POWERCORE or UAD-1

Haven't used either, but the UAD-1 sounds cooler (all those digital models of classics. They just added the Pultec EQ. )It's also less expensive, if I remember right. I'd definitely go with the UAD-1.

i can get them both cheap, actually with only a $50 difference so price doesn't matter...
i've heard good things about both... i'm trying to find some ppl that actually have one of the 2 cards

These 2 cards both sound great and both offer a range of nice plugins. Seems to me, more 3rd party manufacturers have jumped on the Powercore, band-wagon. But I think the UAD-1 has better EQ, and Dynamics, and NIGEL (a sweet guitar processor). I think the Powercore has the better reverb (Well that is a TC staple right...). I think the UAD-1 will offer a better initial investment, but the powercore may prove to be more enduring. I say, throw caution to the wind, and buy both. And while you're at it, check out the new Pulsar from Creamware. If you are looking for a card that offers options. Pulsar has TONS of effects and synths written for it, and now slides nicely into a VST environment. Combined with any number of the other Creamware cards, you can design a totally intergrated system. Does anyone know wheter or not the Pulsar, Powercore, and UAD-1 would live in harmony in one system.

I have the UAD-1, and use it extensively. I decided to go with it first, and get the TC card later, based on the strength of its vintage gear emulations (the LA-2A in particular is a-verrah-verrah-nahhhs!). The Realverb Pro is very usable as well, and the morphing abilities make the user interface extremely quick to experiment with (have two different presets that you like, buit neither one is quite right? Select them both, and morph between them!).

I already have some TC outboard gear, so I decided that it made no sense to duplicate that functionality in plugins to start with- the UAD-1 was the only way to go for me. However, I do intend to get a Powercore at some point moving forward. I have seen posts in other forums from people who use both simultaneously.

Your call! But between the Nigel instrument processor, the 1176, Pultec, and LA-2A emulations, and yes even that reverb, the UAD-1 can stand up pretty well.

Now, what I really want is for the PSP folks to port VintageWarmer to *either* of those cards. If they ported it to the TC, that'd make an instant sale for me. I love that plugin...

C9-2001 i'm just curious are u gettin these 2 cards from a friend or have u found a store where they sell it at a good price....if so put people on ;)

not a store a person, but i know some stores that have the powercore for like 899-or 999, and the uad for 799
