TC Electronic M300 HELP PLEASE!!!

can i use this TC Electronic M300 as a ad/da converter and use it as a clock or word clock not sure what its called but i was told if you clock digi 001 to an outboard sorce it helps alot??? can i clock to this or would i need something else???

any thoughts on good a/d d/a or clock sorce for my digi 001
i know the most part its engineer and preamps and mics but i wana fix this part too so i can get the most from my digi 001. Is there any cheap routes to go about this that will improve digi???
 
I'm not sure what the clock in the M300 is like. Probably the best thing to do is just test it out by setting the 001 clock to external/SPDIF and connect the M300 to the 001's SPDIF input. If you don't already have one, I'm not sure the clock will be that much better than the internal clock in the 001. You might have to spend more for an Apogee or other high end converter with a S/PDIF output.
 
Not real sure what you are asking, but the M300 can be used as an A/D, D/A converter. The M300 must be the Master clock.
