Hi !

i have recorded 7 tracks on an Tape (left 8th Track (midi) blank).
No i want to connect it to my PC and edit the stuff. Sure the mixer on the tascam is great, but it´d be nice to edit with puter (just to be sure not to kill tracks).

No i wonder how i can copy my tracks into a multitrack-program on my PC. If have an ordinary soundcard with MIDI and the TASCAM supports MIDI. So i wonder how this could be synced or be done .... ????

is it possible to copy 1 track to puter and afterwards the 2nd track without offsets ?
can it be done easier ? and if not, how can this be done by MIDI ?
are there general tutorials on this ?

thx a very much for any help !!!!

You might want to post this in the Technique's forum.

I'm thinking of doing the same with my 488MkII except I'm not going to be doing MIDI.

I just want to be able to transfer all eight tracks so I can EQ and add effects to individual tracks during or before mix-down.

I'm still investigating the options, but I'm almost certain you need a card with eight inputs.

If you find out any info please post.

i´ll tell you as sonn as i find out anything.
but it should be no problem to transfewr all of the eight tracks synchrounosly if you have a audiocard with 8 inputs. But as i dont want to spend so much money for it (thats more than the cost of the 488MKII) i´m trying to do this all by sync ... hopefully it can be done.

PS: here you´ll find infos about sending all 8 tracks:

there are some replies in midi-mania

but if you need to record 8 tracks, it should be ok with 4 channels input at once, if they´re stereo i think ...
