Buy an 8 or 16 track digital box. Minidiscs are nice to record music from CD to disc to use in your car if you have a minidisc player in your car. Or, they are nice to use if you don't have a digital box. Or, they are nice to use if you don't have anything else to use.
But, seriously, digital is the way to go. Coming soon I predict DVD recorders, players, etc. After that, flying saucers will bring in new gear.
