just wondered if anyone had any thoughts on this USB 2 sound card? going to university soon to study popular music and recording, and thought it might be useful to have a more portable setup than this big sodding desktop, so a laptop is going to be purchased and a sound card will be bought! haha. i liked how i could use my TC M200 delay/reverb with a SPDIF cable to add another two inputs - something i'm used to doing with the Delta 66 i have in my desktop.
it comes bundled with cubase LE, and i've always intended to use a laptop simply as a useful way of 'recording on the go', as well as other uni stuff (apparently, they might want me to type 'essays'?!?!
) so it'd fit both worlds usefully - when it came to accurate mixing/editing, i'd move everything onto my (probably more powerful) desktop. real mouse and everything, haha.
i'd also want to use it for live performance with a midi keyboard and a sequencer program (most like the Cubase LE that comes packaged with it) - anyone got any thoughts on this? i THINK i've seen people use it effectively in this situation before, but i was on the other side of a smoky room, and i've only seen pictures of the US144, so i might be mistaken.
any thoughts?
cheers,
Andrew.
