I'm in the process of setting up a headphone monitoring system. Wanting to use the balanced out puts, 1-2 & 3-4, for headphone monitoring. I'm using Cakwalk Sonar X3 daw.
So my question is, are each balanced out stereo or mono? I ask because Sonar is grouping 1(L)&2(R) on one channel and 3(L)&4(R) on 2 channel. (and I have my "mains" going to my near-field monitors.)
I plugged my headphone amp in to #1 channel, and sent some tracks to the corresponding output, using the sends, pre-fader. I was able to manipulate the the mix levels, but the pan didn't seem to do anything. Sound was coming out of both speakers in my cans.
I did look in the owners manual and couldn't find any tech info on the balanced outs.
