TASCAM US-144 and mic combo?

Hey guys, I posted in the Newbies section about looking for an audio interface, etc. etc.

Anyways, I wanted your feelings about this deal at Guitar Center:
guitar center. com/ TASCAM- US-144- Interface-and- MXL-990-991-Microphone-Bundle-241724-i1370013.gc (Sorry about the funny spacing, but I'm too new to post urls...)

The Guitar Center employee did not have very nice things to say about the microphones, but I don't know much about the quality of Guitar Center employees, but if they're anything like Best Buy employees, they can't be trusted. And, from what I've read, you guys very much can be trusted. So let me know what you think!
 
The deal looks OK to me. Not outstanding, but OK.

What kinds of things will you be recording with the mics? They are low end but might be just fine to start out with.

I have a keyboard whose built-in speakers are really really bad, I'll also be recording acoustic guitar and vocals.

Every now and then, a few electric guitars or electric basses will be joining in our song and dance. (Less song, more dance.)
