Tascam US-122mkii recording with Music Creator 6

Hi all and sorry if I have posted in the wrong forum, I did have a search around but could not find anywhere else that this seemed to fit.

Ok I am running Music Creator 6 on Windows 10 and trying to use a Tascam US-122mkii to record from a mic

The mic is working and the Tascam sig/ol Input light flashes green when I make a noise into the it.

Music Creator can "see" the Tascam as a device for input.

However, I cannot get Music Creator to use the Tascam as an input - it is not listed as available for Audio tracks

The Tascam does show up on Midi tracks but I am assuming that is not what.


Anyone have any idea where I am going wrong?

I am quite surprised that W10 "saw" the 122 at all! The interface is very old now, we have had the 144 and 144mkll since and even they are gorn!

Have you checked the Tascam website to see if there is a W10 driver? (I shall in a mo') .

I am ignorant of MC6 but a good benchmark DAW is Audacity. Go to Ninite - Install or Update Multiple Apps at Once and tick the box for Audacity then follow the instructions. The site is super clean and safe and will not download any ***t!
Install Audacity then it is "Edit">Preferences... to set the interface.

Edit function seems to have GTH again.
So, no. There seem to be no drivers later than Vista (loved it!) sheeezs! Even goes back to 98se! Had that!

Unless W10 gives you some form of Compatibility option or an XP mode I think you are on a hiding to nothing. In any case I HAD a US 122. Worked but the mic pres were pretty bloody awful.
