hey guys i recently bought this interface and it comes with Cubase Le 5. It seems to read my mic but after I record something and play it I can't hear anything. Can I only hear my recording through the interface meaning I need headphones or can I listen to it straight from my laptop? Am I doing anything wrong?

Someone help please!

I'm not familiar with cubase but you should be able to go to your ins and outs or your audio options and change your output from the tascam to your computer's soundcard. Or get some speakers and plug them into the tascam.

unfortunately i don't see any computer soundcard option. on the output setting all i can choose is "not connected" or my tascam audio interface. I thought by purchasing headphones I can just listen to my recordings on Cubase through my Tascam but no luck. So I still am unsure on what to do.

Oh, I thought you just wanted the sound to come out of your computer speakers. But yes, set the soundcard to the tascam and you should be able to use headphones through it. Just plug them into the headphone out and there should be a 'input/computer' knob on the tascam, turn it to the 'computer' side. Also make sure the headphone volume is up and it should work.
