Hello guys my 1st thread here....

I've recently got myself a mobile setup
Acer aspire 5740g i5 430 2.26 4 gigs ram
Running Windows 7 64 bit and Cubase 5 64 bit
Akai MPK 25
Tascam us-122 mk 2

I'd researched all the components and saw nothing incompatable as Ive been using Cubase 32 bit on my XP rig.

Problem is....I play the VSTI fine and hear the notes played with low latency until I go to record then everything is delayed heavily including the click track.
When I turn off the Tascam and use the onboard ASIO the click track is synced
After days of trying to sort this out Im at a loss...
I have all the latest drivers for everything in system including Tascams 64 bit drivers for Windows 7+their firmware update.
What could possibly be the problem with a simple click track being so delayed when I use my US-122 mk 2?
Any help or ideas greatly appreciated

Timing problems

I also have the Acer Aspire, 5742, I5 CPU and 4 GB RAM., and am getting those timing problems using the Tascam.
I purchased this product a few weeks ago, and um using it with Sonar 8 on a laptop with the Intel I5 CPU and 4 GB RAM, running Windows7. I have noticed now that there are timing problems. If I record a guitar track and then record a bass guitar track in the same project, there are slight timing issues between the two tracks. They are just not together. I'm sure this didn't happen when I first had the Tascam unit. I am new to home recording, so am not sure if it's the software configuration or the Tascam device. I don't think it's due to lack of resourse on the laptop. Task manager shows that it's only using aqbout 1.6 GB memory, and the CPUs hardly register.I also have an old desktop PC which is only USB 1 and so doesn't run the Tascam device properly, but by plugging a guitar into the line-in input on the sound card, I can record many tracks without any problems, which is why I don't think it's the way I have the project setup in Sonar.
Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

I'm not familiar with the software for the US-122, but if it's anything like it's bigger brother, the US-1641, you should be able to adjust the latency settings and come up with a workable solution. That's all I can really think of at the moment.

I am just hypothesizing here, but for me vsti's tend to take up a great amount of cpu while recording. Especially when multiple instances are going at once. I would try to either raise the buffer (latency setting) or at least 'Freeze' any other channels before recording more to free up your comps resources. I find it to be a balancing act while tracking with low latency. Shutting down vst(i)'s while tracking will lessen the delay caused by these plugs.
