Hello, I'm new here so pls be gentle.
Anyone has some comments on the Tascam U-122 USB interface?
I'm very well equipped in regards to midi keys and outboard gear,
so getting them into my PC (P4 2.4 ghz) via AdobeAudition(formerly known as CoolEdit) is no problem. I just need a way to add vocals using a Marshall 922 condenser mic. I figured the Tascam is proper for my needs as well as price point. I also have a laptop that would use it too! I've decided that I only need 1 mic input but I'll take another thank you. The U-122 has a midi 1x1 input which is kewl...thanks!

I own one myself for my laptop recording. Works really good for the price and the preamps are pretty decent also. At least they are quiet. I didnt have much problem with setup either.

Thanks braddah...I went and clicked on the purchase button...it should be delivered around the 20th...can't wait to check it out with my MXL990.

I have a mxl 990 mic and If you want to record vocals you would need a Y hook up because i found it very hard to record and the left input the have to record the same thing on tha right. i need help too.and the sofftware that came with it is very confusing. do any of yall have this problem or did i do somthing wrong or am i not doin something right.

P.s. plus without fiddlin with direct monitor you get off beat

Playajbc,

I was wondering about that mic input being labeled L/R, but methinks I can resolve that after I record a program into AdobeAudition. If I'm not mistaken, you can setup any recording software to record in stereo mode coming from any input source even if it's mono per se'. Sorry, I don't plan to use the enclosed software. I'm happy with Audition. Although my mind could change knowing I also have Cakewalk HomeStudio to tryout.
The direct monitoring concept I was reading sounds straight up.
Perhaps I feel confident due to my extensive experience in ADAT, CoolEdit, Cakewalk, and SoundForge platforms. I promise to report back in this Thread any pressing issues concerning the Tascam U-122.

Laterz Playajbc...
