Maybe I'm too old, or am doing something right.
I have read some other posts thruout the other boards on how the TASCAM Porta I,II,III 4 tracks are crappy,bad,ect... I have used my Porta 03,MKII for years now and have been making some really cool songs. I play synths, guitar-acoustic-metal and nylon string, electic gutair and bass and have several drum machines.I sing also, in two part harmony. I have pulled off tracks that have made other pro recording studios techs, jaws drop. Now I am recording from the 4-track to CD/R on my computer with awesome results. I hear very little tape hiss and hardly no pops when I "punch in" new sounds on the same track. I think "volume levels" are the key to my success. I am not trying to claim myself as perfect, who is, right? But making music with less $$$$ equipment doesn't limit my creativity.
