Hey y'all,

I just scored one of these for cheap at a garage sale, and it didn't come with any documentation. Does anyone know how they're wired and what they're capable of?

Thanks!

I believe it came stock as a "half-normalled" bay. The configuration could be broken 1 top to bottom jack pair at a time.

I haven't read it so I can't verify it's accuracy but http://www.sweetwater.com/expert-center/techtips/d--05/25/2001 explains the different patch bay types.

It's unbalanced with rca plugs on the back... not really what you would use for your primary bay

If you are running unbalanced, ala TASCAM, Fostex; etc., why not? I've done it for years without problems.

It's fine for that purpose as long as you have all rca sources... if not, you'll spend more on specialized cables and adapters then the patch bay is worth...

And sure, run unbalanced where necessary but don't limit yourself with a patchbay that won't allow it... A balanced patch bay just makes sense, especially considering the price difference, which is negligible.

Correct. You use this to bring the jacks on Tascam's recorders and older mixers out to the front of the rack.

I know the thread is ancient, just chipping in my two cents. :p
