Hi all, first post. Ok after 20 years Im gonna actually hook up my tascam pb 32 "b". However my manuals all talk about the four tascam verions of the pb 32 but the "b" version must be newer then my literature because they don't mention it. I have found out that it is balanced-good or bad? The thing I can't find is if its normalled, Half normalled or de-normalled. There aren't any switches on it. I assume its normalled but...benny hill says... Does any one know? Thanks in advance.

Balanced... Good

There won't be any switches on a "quality" Patch... You need to open the case and flip the modules... there may be a sticker on the housing indicating positions for each mode.

patch bay switch

Thanks man, I never would have thunk it. I will crack her open and see. That would be sweet if I can choose its status of normalization. I guess for my simple mind here I am hoping its normaled and I will be good to go...

Well... now I feel kind of invested. So I did a tiny bit of research and the 32B is a normalized bay... which means odds are thats the default condition as you have it now... but you can flip the modules internally and make them straight through...

I think you're already in business... grab a couple of patch cords before you grab the screwdriver
