Hi I recentely purchased a Tascam porta 07 off ebay and it works fine. I used to have a porta 01 years ago and wanted to transfer all my old 4 track tapes to the digital realm and clean them up. Unfortunately the tascam runs at hi speed. I was wondering if there was any way of slowing it down to regular speed. I noticed there is an internal pitch calibration control inside the unit but that only affects the pitch to a small degree. I noticed the motor is a 1600/3200. Is there any way of getting it to run at 1600rpm as i dont seem to be able to find a motor that runs at that speed. I have made a mistake and ordered mabuchi cw motor but it runs at 2400rpm and only has 2 leads to connect meaning that pitch control would not be possible. I assume that 1600rpm is for regular cassette speed which is what i am wanting to achieve. I have some basic knowledge of electronics, but not to the degree of having to work out if i had to use a resistor to lower the voltage etc to the motor.
