Hey guys. Im new to the forums so please don't bust my chops for my first post! I'll find my way round the forums in good time and hopefully I won't ask too many 'beginner type' questions!!

Anyway, have any of you guys used the Tascam MFP-01. I know it's a fairly basic unit but I was just wondering what sort of quality I should expect from it, i.e. hiss or other noise etc. I wanted to have a bit of experience with analog and tapes before I save up my cash for a digital machine.

I have one coming from good old Father Christmas!

Any help would be much appreciated!

Pretty much bottom-rung lofi cassette sound quality is what you should expect, with no ups & no extras.

It's a functional 4-track, though, in the most stripped and basic sense. You can get yer sound onto tape, one input and one track at a time, & you can play it back & pan them together in stereo. I'd have been out of my mind with glee, if I had something like the MF-P01 when I was in high school.

Good luck & merry Christmas!

I'm making it your job to do the hands-on checkout of the MF-p01, & post the results back here later, with a full report.

;)

Thanks for that.

I just wanted something pretty basic but functional before I save up for a more expensive machine. I have a pretty good mixer as well so that should help.

I'll post up a review when I get it.
