Hey Yall,
Im wondering how much a Tascam M-2524 would go for if its in clean and working order? I have a chance to buy one off a friend...
Tanks

I fly one too.

a 16 channel 4-8hundred,24 channel 5 hundred more, provided the midi still works and is clean and in excellent working order.
I've seen alot of them for less, but were in bad shape, make sure the patch area is not full of dust and crud. the unit does have a quarter sized battery in it to remember the midi settings, if it's dead, the midi will not remember anything, is this the reason for selling it?
Power it up, do you see the famous tascam light show?

I still have my old M2524 but don't use it much as I also have a M3700. I sometime take the M2524 out live to track live location recordings.

A good condition 2524 here is OZ will only get about AU$600 to AU$700 and a knocked around one will be lucky to get AU$200. It's a shame in a way that they are not worth more but that's the way things are, mine cost AU$7000 when new. In the USA it could in fact be worth a bit more as there is more of a market, but $600 to $700 would be fair anything below $500 for a good condition one, how can you go wrong.

I actually liked my old M2524 and recorded and mixed many great albums on it. The midi mute / scene control is very useful.

Talking about prices, the M3700 was worth AU$32,000 new, it's now worth AU$1000 if you are lucky.

Alan.
