Tascam M-208

Hello everyone, I just picked up an M-208 for mere pennies and I'm already loving the sound of this thing...the pre's are superb.
There is a problem with it though. No signal is coming out of the headphone jack. I checked all the fuses and they all seem to be fine. Would anyone have
any clues as to what might be wrong? Also, where can I find a manual?
Ideally I'd like to mod this mixer to have 8 discreet channel outs, so if anyone has any info about that I'd really appreciate it. Thanks.

What are you using yours with? I'm having trouble getting mine to act as a mizer. Right now, its just playing the 238 through it. Is there something I need to press in order to get it going and I can mix my tapes?

Odds are the previous owner blew the headphone amp chip, trying to drive a pair of speakers directly off the 1.5 watt headphone amp. TASCAM used to mention that it was possible to do exactly that with smaller, efficient speakers as a means of having something temporary to use until you could afford a real amp to do the job. Odds are, they overtaxed the circuit and blew the chip.
