I don't have the 1884, but I have the 1804 (same thing without the control surface). It's been a solid piece for me. I had to fiddle with it a little to get it keeping in sync, but have had no problems since then, it was mostly due to not disabling my onboard sound card. My only complaint with the 1804 is that it only has 2 analog outs, and sometimes I wish I could route things better, but other than that, it's been great.
