Hi I've been recording through my DP-32sd for about a month now and have a few questions.
I'm asking about the DP-32 and 24 because I'm assuming they are the same.

How do you get reverb working?
I can not get reverb or any other effect to work or show up in the mix.
I have all the settings that the manual shows, I have everything turned on and hte send knobs turned up and am getting nothing.

How do I know if the compression is working?
I have all my compression settings set and it's turned on but I can't tell by listening and on the master meter it doesn't appear that it is working because the signal is still going into the red.

Is the only way to record to tracks 9-32, is to bounce them from 1-8?
Because you can't set imput H to record to track 9/10.

Thanks for any help,
Travis

I'll come back with a reply for the reverb later on, I'll need to play with it cause I can't remember off of the top of my head.

As for recording to different tracks, use the assign button. You can assign any input to any channel, make stereo tracks mono tracks, assign two inputs to a stereo channel etc etc. It's all under the assign button.

Can you please tell me how to do this? I know how to assign tracks but it will only let me assign to tracks 1 through 8.

Sorry mate, been busy, but here goes.

Assigning tracks.

On the home screen.

Press the assign button.
Press the 'select' button above the fader of the track you want to record to.
Then press the 'source' button of whichever input you want to go to that track.

So setting input 'H' to track 9/10 would be.

Assign.
Select. (above the fader on track 9/10)
Source. (on input H)

When you 'select' a track, you also have the option of whether you want it to be stereo or mono (tracks 9/10 and above on the 32). Do this BEFORE you record. If you try to change it after recording the machine will delete whatever audio is there.

You can do it a different way as well. Press the assign button, then use the cursor buttons to go to the track you want to use. Then use the jog/dial to select which input you want.

Any more problems with this, let me know.

For the effects.

You have to make sure that the 'return' is turned up in the effect setup screen. Then in the mixer screen you need to turn up both the effects send 1 and master send 1.

There is also a little green box next to the effects dial on the mixer screen. This goes through 'off' , 'pre' or 'post'.
Set to 'off' it doesn't matter where you have your dials, you won't get the effect. Needs to be set to pre or post, depending on which way you want it.

That should get you sorted.

If not, this video on youtube might help.

This was incredibly helpful. I was having the exact same trouble. Thank you
