I recently purchased my Tascam DP-02 a few days ago, and for the most part, understand a majority of the options the instruction manual provided. However, there is one factor of the machine's that I have yet to grasp, and that is how to lower the speed of my recording during playback.
What I have done when creating my first track is recorded the individual parts of the song (verse, chorus, etc.) and the proceeded to place "In", "Out", and "To" marks within these individual parts to move them to where they belong within the song (like arranging the pieces of a puzzle). However, when I do this, there always tends to be a slight gap between parts of the song. For example, once the recorded verse moves into the chorus, there may be a second and a half gap between the two which sounds quite noticeable. This is quite clearly due to my inaccurate placing of the "In", "Out", and "To" marks, which I am forced to place by ear and quick timing.
My remedy for this problem was going to be to simply slow down the playback of the recording to some degree, so I may be able to tell where the individual parts start and end much more accurately than I could at it's current speed. However, I can find no place in the manual that describes how to manage playback speed. I simply wish to know whether or not it can even be done, and if so, how?
My reasoning for recording like this is merely to keep the song consistent. As opposed to playing through the entire song and repeating the chorus and verse 2 or 3 times, each of which sounding slightly different than the previous one. I figured if I could record the verse once perfectly, and then copy and paste it throughout the rest of the song, it would sound much more consistent and authentic.
Anyway, if anyone can help my situation at all, it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
