I have a couple questions pertaining to the dm4800 and the firewire card, 1. Is it necessary to have the firewire card to connect my pc (cubase5) to the board and control together? If so.... i just bought a brand new pc and it runs windows 7 i tried installing the firewire card and installing but it says windows 7 is not supported.... surely they have a driver somewhere i can download to make it work with this, right?? any comments would be helpful, I'm trying to open my first commercial studio and this board has given me the biggest headache so far
thanks

You don't need an FW card to control Cubase from the DM4800 and vice/versa. Thew FW card is mainly for passing Audio. The card does have midi, so I guess you could use it for control. Machine control is done through basic Midi connections. I think midi through the USB connection on the DM4800 is the preferred route. Cubase should recognize the midi ports from the DM USB port. The rest is routing machine control and MTC to the right ports. I assume that you would want to use Mackie Control drivers in Cubase to communicate with the DM4800. I'm not a Cubase guy, anymore, but that would be my guess.
