Tascam DM3200 & Cubase

Hi im using a tascam dm3200 and a rackmount x-cube pc with cubase 4 on it, the tascam is going into the rackmount pct via firewire, when i open cubase and it get it all running, i am not able to pick up a signal so im not able to record, this a real issue as i need to record a band in the next week. I have set up everything the manual says to the letter, i have added mackie controls 1 and 2 and have set there ports up on the cubase control. But still not getting a signal.
Any help would be appriacated

are you enabling the individual inputs within cubase???

Im not sure, how would you do that? :S as you can tell im a really a newbie to this.
