I've set up my DM4800 with Protools. the PC and the Mixer are communicating, the firewire Card is working, Protools sees the 32 I/O in the bus section of the I/o menu.
I'm pretty familiar now with how things get routed around in the mixer
I've got Protools controlled with the mixer as far as transport controls.
But there are a few well... let's say important issues that are escaping me.
They are as follows:
1) I can't seem to be able to get the MIDI controllers to see or interact with the HUI. I've followed the basic directions from the manufacturer, other forums, etc. Just No Dice on getting Protools to see the HUI device. The HUI control selections see my Tascam DM4800 and all the MIDI ports. I'm using 5, 6 and 7 for the controller ports. So. I don't have control yet of faders, mutes, record, etc.
2) Despite the fact that Protools sees the 32 firewire I/O in the bus section, when I route fader(track) inputs and/or outputs through the bus. I don't get any input to the track from the mixer and I can't get any output from Protools tracks to the mixer. I believe all my routing in the mixer to is correct, and the PC does see the 32 channels properly.
I am running protools 8.01 Le in a Mbox2
Windows 7 with all the updates
the Tascam IF-FW/DMMKII firewire card
All the Tascam firmware and drivers are up to date.
I've included some screenshots that might help, so you can see what i'm seeing. Is there something completely wackadoo here. a Tascam with Protools book for dummies would be great right now. I think I may just have some of my digital wires crossed here. Any ideas?
