Tascam customer service sucks!

After Tascam support finally determined the problem with my "new" 3 month old DP-01FX recorder, they tell me my unit needs to be serviced and it is going to cost me money to have it shipped to be serviced! The defective unit (I can't export any of my music to my computer) is due to the manufacturer.......not me!....and yet it's going to cost me more money to have it fixed. Somehow I feel this is soooo wrong! :mad:
 
Unfortunately the shipping gotcha is pretty standard – don’t know how it became the norm because it is counterintuitive to have to pay for inconvenience.

Have you exhausted all options with the place of purchase? They may pick up the shipping as a matter of course if factory service is required. Sounds like you're past that though.

but you've got to pay shipping most of the time with returns for service or exchange.
