Tascam Charger

Hi, I have a TASCAM PORTASTUDIO 424 MKIII but I'm missing the charger. I found one online for something like $80, I plan on calling the company tomorrow but I was wondering if there is any other devise that has the same kind of charger or if anyone knows where to get one for cheaper.

I'm not familiar with the mkIII version (as I've only got the mkII), but Tascam should have them for less than $80, I would imagine. Offhand, all I can say is that you should make sure the polarity and voltage are exactly correct, and the amperage should be the same or more than a factory supply, should you choose to go that route.

I also bought a Tascam 424 MkIII without the power adaptor and I'm from Australia and they are virtually impossible to get here so I'm looking at an alternative. Jaycar have a very similar power adaptor (model no. MP-3055) that runs at 2 x 11.5v at 240v but has a 3-pin connector instead of 6-pin. Does anyone know what the wiring configuration is so I can rewire a 6-pin plug to it?
