Tascam 788/mackie dfx 12

Hi, just another newbie. I just recieved a mackie DFX 12 mixer as a present and was wondering if it will work in connection with my 788. I would like to conect it somehow so i have more inputs, more mixing capabilities, and preamps for some of the channals. If there is a way to do this it would be great if not i might just sell the mixer. If so how can i connect them? Thanks

Connect the Main L/R Outs of the Mackie to the Aux-in of the 788.
Use either 2 mic cables with the XLR to 1/4" TRS adapters that came with the 788 OR two 1/4" TRS to 1/4" TRS cables.

Thanks. so will that allow me to use all the channals on the mixer and put them onto the aux channals of the tascam?
