tascam 688

Hello everyone !
I have a Tascam Midistuduo 688.
I use it as a mixer (and that`s a very good mixer!), `cause there`s smth wrong with cassete. I`ll repair it for sure in 2 weeks time.
The question is Does anyone have any exp with it as a recorder? I would be pleased to hear a good or bad word about my 688.

yes, it rocks as a recorder, but you'll need a manual! good luck repairing it

Hi vectorass,can i put a problem to ya?or anyone else who can help?my cassette bit doesn't work either but I'm using my 688 to record onto cubase,using the mic in then insert out into an interface.But now I wanna record drums onto my reel to reel, so i've got 6 mics going in then
coming out the 1&2 group out onto the 2 channel r2r but theres a huge buzzy fuzzy noise going on over the top of the recorded signal.Dunno whats wrong,could be an earth problem,or I've got it set up wrong,I dunno.How have you got yours set up?Any ideas would much appreciated.Cheers.
