i'm new to this site and i have a old tascam 688, in great shape. can anybody give me the ins and out of it? i gest put a new belt on it and got a new batch of tdk's

I know its a little pricey,and its a cassette,but it seem to be a tutorial on the 688 and the 644.
I was thinking of buying this at one point because I wanted a 688 myself.

You'll want a copy of the user's manual, as the whole "scene" thing is a bit confusing: Lonesome Cosmonaut » The last great cassette multitrack, the Tascam 688
I'm about to dig mine back up for some recording. It's a great little unit. Where'd you pick up the TDK's?
