I have connected my Tascam 600 to my computer via USB. My condenser MIC is connected to the LINE 2 (mic). I have turned phantom power on and the red light indication on the front is on. Level and mon mix lights are both green but...isn't the green light on the front suppose to be on for the mic? I have installed my Cubase LE5 and I already have a headache because I don't understand all about output, input, device ports etc.
Anyway, I have been looking tutorials in youtube and trying to find information on the internet but both have been unsuccessful. I'm following instructions in the getting started tutorial but I am still confused
In the manual it says that I should set the device to US144MKII. Is this the same as US 600? When I click on devices>device set up I have these choices under VST audio system:
-ASIO directX full duplex driver
-Generic low latency ASIO driver
-US600
Which one should I use? After that, it says I should go to Devices>VST connections:
Could you help me set the output and input??? What do I do here??
I followed the instructions (but some options that appears on the tutorial are not available to me because I don't know how to set it up) about how to record but nothing is happening. I get no response from my condenser.
Please someone help me out!!! It is extremely frustrating for any musician that is just starting this fascinating world of home recording. I understand everything shouldn't just be handed out to people which is why I am trying to get information from a lot of different sources and youtube but I still can't record.
