hi all,
i've been using my Tascam 488 for years, recording into it and then manually dumping the individual tracks into Logic for editing and extra mixing etc. i've just seen an tutorial on YouTube (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bswx5zrFRl0) where you can record onto tape AND simultaneously have the signal go into your DAW, (signal from the repro head of the tape machine) so that you get the tape sound straight into your DAW. best of both worlds really.
however, i'm just wonderig how to route the output signal in the 488 so that this signal comes from the actual tape? ....as opposed to the signal bypassing the tape head and merely flowing through the 488 and into the DAW....does that make sense?
any help would be mucho appreciated as it would save me soooo much time if i could avoid all the manual dumping of tracks from one machine to the other.
thanks in advance
