This will probably come across as dumb but I'm a bass player...
I have a 488 MKII I use to record my students 6 days a week for the last bunch of years. My 488 MKII is a wonderful machine...until recently...now I'm getting horrible WOW & FLUTTER.
I purchased a couple of capstan belts for the 488 MKII...I'd like to change the existing one out hoping the WOW & FLUTTER I'm experiencing is due to an old and fatigued belt.
But I'm stymied right at the beginning of the process. I took out all the screws I could see and the top will still not come off easily...it's like I'm missing a screw or two.
Can anyone help with what I'm missing (besides a qualified repair guy) to get inside my 488 MKII?
Is anyone willing to send a diagram of the total screw/fastener locations so I can get back up and running? I will clean the rubber as well ;-)
