your best bet is to got to the Tascam website and click on products and then click on manuals. Download the one for the 424MKII, they're very similar to operate. AND ITS FREE!

The 424 MKII is a 4-track version of the 488MKII so manual will help with all of the trickey functions. I've never used the MKIII but if you check it out you may find something helpful in the manual.
