is there any other portastudio that uses the same power adapter? also, if anyone has an extra adapter for the 424 mkiii, I would love to buy it off of you

I'm in the same boat... These are the best options I've been able to find:
Some audio retailer on ebay has a bunch of them - I'll probably go with this myself when I can afford the extra $50 or so:

Also, there's some store in Wisconsin called Audio Depot that sells what seem to be copies (but they'll work, supposedly):

Have either one of you guys contacted Tascam directly (via phone is best) to see if they still had some available? I can't promise anything, but they are surprisingly good at having old stock still hanging around, and alot of times for cheaper than what you'll find on ebay. Just a thought, it couldn't hurt to try.

I also bought a Tascam 424 MkIII without the power adaptor and I'm from Australia and they are virtually impossible to get here so I'm looking at an alternative. Jaycar have a very similar power adaptor (model no. MP-3055) that runs at 2 x 11.5v at 240v but has a 3-pin connector instead of 6-pin. Does anyone know what the wiring configuration is so I can rewire a 6-pin plug to it?
