Thinking of picking one of these up. Can get one for about $150 bucks.

Is this a good deal and more importantly is it a good multi-trak

Thanks

Its pretty much the standard for analog cassette 4tracks. It has xlr inputs and sweepable mids. $150 is a good deal- beware though, test everything out before you buy it or make sure you can return it. Used 4 tracks have a notorious way of being screwed up.

Hey DIG,
Hold out a little longer and get a NEW 424mkIII for aound 330.00.
A better unit, new, and the price just dropped to 329.00. I got mine for 399.00. And if you are lucky someone might be offering a freebie with the puchase, like a mic or something.

Hey Dig, ever think about PC recording. I had one of those units for a year or two and thought I was high tech until I discovered DAW. Cassette recorders now seem so cheesy.
Think about it and do some research. If you have a PC the power of DAW today is overwhelming:)

Get an Adat if you need portability, other wise i agree with stealthtech, but if you havnt got a computer your 150 outlay has somewhat increased!

An Adat and a mixer is a good start on the cheap but still offers you digital recording.

But in the end it depends what you demands are i know of lots of people that are happy with thier 4-track..so simple!

As far as that particular machine i cant help you Dig.
