Tascam 424 MK II right channel issues

I bought a Tascam 424 mk ii a couple of weeks ago and it's become apparent that there's a problem with the right channel. On the display the VU meter for the right channel isn't showing and when I run a cable from the line outs on the tascam to the line ins on my audio interface only the left channel is audible.

I seem to be able to record fine to the left and right bus, and when monitoring on headphones I can pan left and right. It's just not showing up on the VU meter and not being sent through the line out.

Does anyone here have any ideas? Is it broken? Am I doing something wrong? Please help!

Man I wish I could help...check all your switches just to make sure that its not just a simple overlook of something in the monitoring section etc etc
