Hi y'all,
Got a 414 from advice on the forum, and so far very happy with the results from it. However it has recently developed a problem and I'd really appreciate any advice on this - I'll do my best to explain. The problem is that when I playback my recording in "mixdown" mode, i.e. with the Monitor L-R button on and the other monitor buttons off (and all the switches on "tape"), I can no longer hear it in the headphones. It comes through perfectly if I connect the lineout rca to an amplifier and go through speakers, but nothing through the headphones, suddenly. I can hear it if I turn the monitor level up, but then can't adjust the balance between tracks. It almost seems like it's only patching the monitor signal to the headphones, and not the "line out" signal anymore. The result through the headphones is the same as when the rca is plugged into the "mon out" and then into amp and speakers. Any ideas? It's annoying not to be able to listen to the "final product" through the headphones.
