i'd like to records the 8 tracks in the same time but i can't ...
when i record, the tracks 1 and 2 are recording the same signal, i push the '1-2 ' button, then pan the 1 on the left and the 2 on the rignt (clockwise) on the monitor 'menu' but it's still recording the same signal
if i record vocals on 1 and guitar on 2 i have guitar + vocals on 1 and on 2
is there any tascam388 users who can help me ??
thanks !! and sorry for my english ...

You have to pan the channels also. Assign both channels 1 and 2 to busses 1-2 like you're doing, but you have to pan channel 1 hard L and channel 2 hard R. That's how you tell it which buss 1 or 2 you want the signal to go. You are getting both channels on both busses because you have the channels panned center.

Below the track/stereo buss assign buttons in each mixer channel is a knob labeled Pan. That's the one you use to send the signal to whichever of the left or right busses you want to send it to (odd is 1, 3, 5 and 7. Even is 2, 4, 6 and 8).

You also need to have the PGM master faders raised to their optimum level (the shaded area).

So. To sum up. To record a signal on track 1 of the multitrack through channel 1 of the mixer you press the 1/2 assign button, turn the pan control in the channel strip all the way left, push the Odd PGM Master fader up to between 7 and 8 and the stereo master fader also to between 7 and 8.
