So I have a question that may seem pretty silly, but i still wonder. the dbx noise red. is a 2:1 compressor - expander, right? Does this affect the way I should use my RNC 1776 on stuff when recording with dbx turned on contra off?

The dbx NR system is best described as a "compander" system in that it has the ability to compress and expand incoming and outgoing signals simultaneously dependent on the levels it sees above and below the 0 VU mark.

And no; no need to worry about making use of other compressors in your signal chain...season to taste!

Cheers! :)

allright, thanks. So I can consider the dbx a compander, and go for normal use on my compressor.

(or did I get the expression -season to taste- wrong, and should NOT use a external compressor...
It's hard)
