Tascam 38 help

Hi.. I've take the advice of many on this board and cleaned the entire tape path with alcohol, and used Deoxit on all of the inputs and outputs. It solved all of my problems except one....I can get Channel 6 to record but am not hearing anything on playback. any final suggestions before I give up and pay to have it serviced?

oh - my setup is a Tascam 38 with an M-30 board and 2 dbx units.

Hi,
If this system has 8 separate rec/playback Amp cards in it you could carefully swap the channel 6 card with say.. the channel 1 card and test again. If channel 6 now works (and channel o1 does not) you have a problem with the Rec/Play Amp card.

Try this out and see if the problem follows the Card or not.
