Not sure the technical name but the guide that is just before where the tape enters the heads.. squeaks to no end. Obviously I thought to put some oil on it as it appears to be metal on metal.. metal hub spinning over a fixed pole. Even with oil, it still squeals. Is there a special oil for this?
The squeal actually gets picked up on the tape as I mix down from my MSR 16.
In the meantime, I just removed the guide wheel and let the tape run across the metal post and that solved the problem.. but I am sure that wheel has a very good reason for being there over the long haul.
