Hey Boys,
I'm trying to record vocals on a Tascam 308b, and I was wondering if there was a way to send reverb (using an alesis microverb) through the headphones, so that she can hear the reverb , .but WITHOUT recording it. . .?

I'm also using a headphone amp, . .but it doesn't have ant foldback plugs. . .
Thanks guys. . . !

Ok there may be a better way to do this but this is what I came up with real quick. Assign her vocal to one of the buss outs that is not being used and run that output to your reverb in and then plug the output of the reverb to the sub input of the aux you are using to send her her headphone mix.

I'm having a little trouble making this work, . .Can you give me more of a step by step details on how to connect the cables?

. .and do you need to be using the buss outs to record, and will this work if you are recording direct? sorry, I'm just a little stupid sometimes, when it comes to hooking up cables

I'm still having trouble making this work , . . if anyone has another solution, or can exlpain how to to send reverb (using an alesis microverb) through the headphones, so that she can hear the reverb , but WITHOUT recording the reverb, .taht would be great!

So, should I go through the Effects Send 1/4" input on the mixer????

How I work with reverb on my M312B's is to feed the reverb's inputs from the effects send and the Aux 2 send out if you have a stereo input-able reverb processor.

Then on the outs of the reverb, I feed those back to two main input strip inputs on the mixer and this gives me the flexibility to feed the reverb's effect to just a monitoring buss like Aux 1 for a mono overdubbing mix or, to the stereo buss, via assigning the orange colored pushbutton beneath the 1-2-3-4 buttons or, print the reverb to tape by assigning it's signal to any of the 4 main recording busses of the mixer.

This means no re-patching. Just push button control and routing.

This method works well so long as you have more mixing channel's then tracks of tape.

Cheers! :)

Yeah, GHOST, Baby!
Thanks man, . .I'm using a Korg DRV-1000, and I'm pretty sure it has stereo OUTS (see diagram) I've been really struggling with that reverb hookup, . .But, this should work nicely. . .

Now, if you can help me with choosing a cable that will work to hook up my powered Fostex to the M308, .. !

Thanks again man, . .that was a big-time help!

You Korg has a mono INPUT only and stereo outs so, you won't need to use the AUX 2 send master out to feed the Korg, just the EFF master out alone. The rest of what I said in my previous post remains the same.

As for your powered monitor question, see my post in the other thread you posted in the analog forum.

Cheers! :)

Thank you, Thank you, thank you!

Thanks Ghost, I've been struggling with that one for a while, . .Thanks man! :)

Would it be the same type of hookup if you were using a 388, . . ?
