Hello!

I am new to the Tascam 2488 neo.. worked on a Dp01fx for years, and I have a question. Is there a way where I can track vocals(record singing) and hear the vocals with reverb, but not actually record them on the track? Sometimes hearing the little saturation while I am singing helps mold the vocals... but I can't figure out how to do it with out it recording to the track.. I just want the actually track clean!

Any help appreciated!

Common practice. To apply reverb you send the effect to the internal effects loop. You know how to do this. After your tracking is done simply turn off the effect or dial it down to zero. The effect is not really printed until you pre-master the track. If you export the track immediately after tracking it will be raw. If you bounce the track with reverb on then the bounced track will contain the effect.

As long as you are adding the effects via the send level on the track (1~24) and not the inputs (A~H) the reverb will not be recorded. Like Manslick said simply turn the send level back to zero after you've recorded and the reverb will be gone. This way you can add a different effect/reverb to the vocals after the fact to suit the mix.

simple fix far more forgiving than tape.. nothing will be printed ...simply turn it off.. this applies to all 24 tracks... even ..pre amp gain..L/R pan.. or reversing the mic out put... thats what i love about her !!!
