I recently acquired a Tascam 246. I am trying to run an accompaniment track from a cd player onto one of the tracks of the Tascam 246 and leaving the other three available for vocal tracks. Problem is when I play back the track with the accompaniment music to remix with vocal tracks the meter with the accompaniment track spikes all the way and never comes back down. I record the track at the proper level but every time it spikes during playback. This does not happen with any of the (vocal) tracks. Any suggestions?
