Does anybody have dimensions to a pinch roller. Mine has turned to goo and with the limited availability of em, I either need to find one close or make my own...

I have an idea of how to make one I'd like to try....

Tascam has apparently discontinued this part (bummer, it only cost like 8 bucks, and was very easy to install) - I just had Terry rebuild the rollers for two clients' machines for the usual rate of $40ish each, and can confirm that they came out very well. It's not necessary to remove the roller from the arm when sending it to him.

Terry is definitely legit, and has a very good reputation for doing great work on otherwise hard to find pinch roller wheels.

Getting the pinch roller wheel out of the 244 however, isn't really an easy task. Follow the directions on that Dr Zee site and you'll be able to do it, but just know what yr getting yrself into. Like I said before, getting the face off of the 244 isn't as simple as just removing the knobs and unscrewing some screws and pulling it off. You have to unplug the VU meters and then maneuver the plug through the body to be able to pull it off. That's what caused me problems at first.

I'm thinking of this from yr perspective, being in a camper instead of a workbench w/ lots of room and adequate lighting etc. That makes it a little tougher.

Thanks guys.... I'm gonna get the wheel off and then we'll see. The big problem is keeping everything together while the roller gets fixed. I guess I can find a bin somewhere to put everything in until I get the roller back.....
Thanks for the info

I just posted this in other threat, but could be helpful:
I found that this pinch rollers could work in the 244:

Outer Diameter 13 mm
Axis hole Mass 2.00mm
Width of the axle 7,5 mm
Width of the rubber 6.5 mm

and for idler tire

outside 18mm
inside 12 mm
width 3mm
height 3mm

I found that what is referred to as an AV1722 roller works well. You can get it very cheaply on ebay - in the UK at least. It has a nylon inner and you may have to file a few tenths of a mm off each end. The first one I bought was great but the second one I used in another machine is a bit eccentric and I'll have to replace it - best to do a w&f measurement before putting it all together! On that note, I worry about replacing it again in case I lose the tiny circlip, which can fly off. Anyone know if you can buy replacement clips this size?
