We need some help here. Please check this thread out:

This probably should have been posted here in the first place. It's an especially well documented servicing of the 244 but applies to 246 as well.
It was going rather well when, in the last posts, we've become stumped as to possible causes of certain peculiar "sounds" in the cassette drive mechanism.
There is a well done video to be looked at. Please chime in with your expertise.
