Hello all,
I've been trying to do some research on the Tascam 2424 and from what I've heard it's a good system (SCSI HD, pro tools compatibility, etc...). I recently ran across a nused one that is in mint condition. An employee from a store bought it but returned it and chose to go with the pro tools package. It comes with the remote control and it's selling for 2300. It sounds like a great deal but I'd like some of your input. The other problem is that I'm interested in the Mackie HDR24/96 (Monitor and keyboard compatibility) mainly because of it's editing functionality. Is it worth the extra cost of buying it new? Can anyone compare the editing functionality of the two? I know the 2424 has an ethernet connection to edit from a computer. Has anyone used it and if so what kind of a computer does it require?
Maybe I'm just getting ahead of myself and the computer editing isn't really needed. Anyhow, please let me know your opinions and btw, all of this will be running through a Ramsa DA-7 (Good choice?).
