Tascam 1641 activating problems

Have been working withe US 1641 with macbook and logic studio Pro 9. Just today when using our new Rode NTK mic, there was no sound coming out of the headphones. reason? the Tascam was activating whilst the mac was thinking and then deactivating. In other words the control panel appeared and the US 1641 appeared in the Input and Output section in >preferences>sound, then disconnected...Any ideas please apart from reload drivers?

Restarting the computer and the tascam should do the trick.

I thought Macs didn't have any problems?? Never happened on my PC. LOL! Not starting sh*t here. Just sayin.........
